Symbola – 2011 – 2015

Project details

Symbola has allowed me to research and develop artwork based on symbols and geometry.  The inspiration for this work is to explore the relationship between humans and consciousness and the symbols that have developed over many years to represent so much of our every day lives.

The work is developed by using three programs; Adobe Illustrator to create the vector graphics, Photoshop for added effects including embossing and textures and After Effects for composition, animation and effects.

The Halo and Light Series are the categories I have named to represent the works of art that are created.

Golden Trinity
The Halo Series images are symbols that constitute the integral reality and belief system of many religious and cultural groups.   I have aimed to achieve a finish that includes the elements of metals and stone to translate to the heavier, earthly existence.
The Light Series images are the geometry of light and sound. The colors transparent, bright and bold. Layered patterns and shapes that come together to attract the viewer to familiar and recognisable symbols.

Triad

 

I see these as symbols that do not belong to any culture, group or country.  They go beyond ownership and exist within a cosmic universal language that we have recognised and are attracted to.
